With the taking over of the developmental duties by Ubisoft, several extensions were added to the title, before they came out with a genuine sequel to Far Cry 2. With Far Cry 2, the action shifted to mainland Africa. Here, a solitary mercenary was navigating the civil war going on between two violent political groups. The third version of Far Cry is more of a return to the roots of the series. You are again on a tropical island and all alone.

This pure action genre game is not just limited to escaping, as in the case of its previous title. It goes beyond that and requires you to decide whether you want to help the locals or not. It also requires you to use the natural environment while fighting. In Far Cry 3, you step into the shoes of a man called Jason Brody who is all alone by himself in one tropical island that is mystifying, isolated and savage.
